waiting for class to start.

I'm so bored... I'm sitting in the student lounge listening to what ever is on T.V. waiting for 6:30 to get here.. I guess I'm bored cause I'm not rushing to study for a quiz tonight. ha! I have physics homework I could be doing but I left it in my jeep, and I'm kinda too lazy to walk to my car to get it. all tho I did try to figure out what we were going to do tonight in Lab, but we got our list of things to cover.. so I have no clue what he has in mind..

I know this is short... but i have 30 Min's before class starts.... hope it goes by quick.

unfortunately tonight's update is going to be a short one as well.

Sorry Roni that I missed you today on Msn. I had just gotten back from the dentist when I seen you had been on.. I will be on tomorrow tho..

speaking of dentist I have to go back the 10 of next month at 3 pm. at least I get out of work the rest of the day.. I really hate going to the dentist, I tend to get sick every time I go esp if they fill cavities or do other dental work.. as far as getting my teeth cleaned or getting x-rays that doesn't bug me other then just giving me a headache which usually goes away after an hour or so. I actually believe the headache is from being turned on my head with my feet in the air for so long.. sometimes I wonder if I'm going to fall out of my chair.. ha! that would be a sight to see wouldn't it? today at the dentist wasn't bad, just had x-rays done.. next time is when I get shots, and my cavities filled... I hope it doesn't take long at all...

went to the funeral home today.. it was sad, I didn't get to stay long with Tonya and her family, but continue to pray for them, some of them were taking it pretty rough.

and on a final note... I passed my quiz tonight with a 100. woo-hoo... no quiz's the rest of the week in my night class.. thank goodness it's about time he gives us a break.

Testimony/camp

* I know this is a long blog roni, but I'm sure you will enjoy it *
Well I’m home from church camp we had the best church services ever! Friday night and Saturday night was good. I honestly don’t remember much about Friday nights service but I do remember Saturday night and this mornings service..
Saturday night Bro. Fred was preaching about loving your wife and not treating her like a door mat, and how married couples don’t need to be fussing with each other and that the man should only crow in the mornings. For example getting the family up for school ect. And how the women should not cluck(fussing) at their husbands instead women should take their clucking to their prayer closets and pray about what their husband is doing wrong. He also brought out that if a man clucks all the time he has a women spirit on him. He even brought out how fighting all the time is what caused marriages to fail, and if every person had the token then why couldn't’t they pray over things and work them out. It was an awesome service!
I have to say though my favorite church service out of our whole camp service was Sunday morning. I walked up to where Bro. Fred, David, and Rhonda was and started talking with them. Well Bro. Fred asked Rhonda if I was her daughter, and she told him no that I was her niece, Bro. Fred also asked who my mother was. Well Rhonda went on into church and I stood around outside still fellowshipping, well Bro. Fred asked me to go get my aunt. I went inside and told Rhonda that Bro. Fred needed her…. Little did I know he only wanted her to come out so he could talk to me, Bro. Fred told David that he was going to talk to us and we walked a little ways away from him.. Bro. Fred started talking to me about how I looked so troubled, he then told me that his wife (which knows about all of my troubles with Mitch) told him about everything that was going on with me and Mitch and that he knew that I loved Mitch, he then told me he wanted to pray with me that God would open Mitch’s eyes to let him see what he’s doing wrong and see how he’s treated me. He said that Guys hear all the time they can have someone else but they never stop and think about what it does to a girl when they tell them they love them, and promise them things and not go through with it. He then said that it’s their pastors fault for not preaching the truth to them. Bro. Fred then took me by both hands and prayed for Mitch, while he was praying I started crying, when he finished I said thanks and then I went into church for the mornings service. During the whole morning service I cried off and on, he was preaching about having faith, miracles happening and the word having an effect on people. He said while he was preaching that he watched many of the youth during the camp and all of them touched him, but their was one who he felt take virtue from him, I was wondering who it could have been, and then he looked at me and asked me to stand up, and he started telling the church how I had took the virtue from him, he walked over to me and he told me to keep believing that things are going to work out, and he told me to keep saying it even if no one else believed with me and eventually it would take affect and work things out, he even said that I could see him coming up the hill I couldn’t keep from crying, and mom was shouting. After I sat back down Bro. Fred walked over to me and said “just flex your faith muscles” It was such an amazing church service, after church I went to the kitchen were mom was and she told me, well we better start planning your wedding, and Rhonda hugged me and said everything was going to work out, David hugged me and said “see you had to be at camp, I love you” then Amy(a lady in my church) walked over to me and goes “honey, your one blessed girl” then hugged me and said “I’ll make you a tape for your wedding” its like I’m a totally different person, I can eat again, I’m happy, theirs no words to describe how I feel and theirs definitely not enough words to describe how thankful I am, or to even describe how church was this morning.
After we cleaned up the camp, I came home and took my physics test, then me, mom, Rhonda, David and the boys went to my friends church where Bro. Fred was preaching, we was about 45 minutes late but we made it. While we was at dairy queen eating after service, I showed Bro Fred and his wife a picture of me and Mitch, he asked if I was giving him the picture and I said he could have it if he wanted it and he told his wife to keep it and to put it in her bible or to place it in his.. Right before we left I walked over to him, shook his hand, and told him thanks again for praying for me, and he told me “God will send your Isaac home to you" we are planning on going to his church in about a month..I believe mom told him that we was going to bring mitch with us.. so we'll be talking before then... I can't wait to be with him...and to hear his voice!! <- this is the picture Bro. Fred took home with him.

I just came into this valley, one like I've never seen before
I keep searching for a way out, seems like pad locks are on the door

oh their must be another sunrise another sunset that I'll see
God has made this trail a blessing, that's the love he has for me

God will make this trail a blessing though it sends me to my knees
though my tears flow like a river yet in him theirs sweet relief.

theirs no need to get discouraged theirs no need to talk defeat
god will make this trail a blessing and the whole wide world will see

I was not the first one to come into this place, you see every child of
God this test he must face, it is here god will mold you and make you
what you ought to be, god will make this trail a blessing just be patient
you will see

now I'm standing on the mountain looking back I can see it was in
my lowest valley his strong hand was leading me, its good to see the Sunshine
and to taste sweet victory, god has made this trail a blessing oh the grace he gives to me

Psychology paper..

Here roni, is my finished psychology paper. read at your own risk.. it might be boring to ya.

Cerebral Palsy In Young Children

Cerebral Palsy in Young Kids
Can you imagine what it is like to spend your entire life in a wheelchair? Try to imagine yourself without the ability to get yourself up, to dress yourself, to go places on your own, or even work at a job and earn a living. These are everyday abilities that people take for granted. However, there are some that live with these inabilities. They live with a disorder called cerebral palsy, which affects the muscle tone in the human body. Due to today’s ever expanding medical research and development, cerebral palsy is more widely known than in years past. Still yet, doctors have been unable to come up with anything that would prevent this from happening to a child, while it is still in its mothers womb. Fetal heart rate monitors and just keeping a close eye on the mother and baby, have been helpful, but still there is no cure. Today nearly 800,000 children and adults are living with some type of cerebral palsy, and every year around 10,00 children are born with some type of cerebral palsy. There is several types of cerebral palsy, one shows up mainly in children, it is called spastic cerebral palsy. It can effect only one side of the body, both legs, or in sever cases all four limbs can be affected. Spastic cerebral palsy causes muscles to stiffen and makes movement difficult. Another type of cerebral palsy is autoerotic cerebral palsy, it is only found in one out of every five children. Autoerotic cerebral palsy affects the entire body and often causes uncontrolled slow moments. The least common type of cerebral palsy is ataxic, it affects balance and coordination. Many children can show signs and symptoms of more than one type of cerebral palsy. Many children can have sever mental retardation while others can be extremely bright. Many need a wheelchair with extensive lifelong care, while others require little or no assistance. (National Institute of Neurological Disorders and stroke. 2006)
Cerebral palsy was first detected by a British surgeon named William Little in the 1860’s. He identified that asphyxia during birth is the major cause of the abnormality . Later in the 1970’s Thomas Galton stated that there is a consistency between aptitude and physical disability which in turn led to the over diagnosis of cerebral palsy. It is possible for people with cerebral palsy to live normal lives when managed coherently. The percentage rates for cerebral palsy occurring are as follows during pregnancy 75%, at birth 5%, and after birth 15% chance of cerebral palsy occurring. (Low,2006)
Cerebral palsy effects children in more ways than a person would realize. Children that do not have this disorder, have the ability to run, play, eat, talk, and simply take care of their every day needs. Where as with children that have cerebral palsy, have to depend on someone for their every need no matter how big or small. Children with cerebral palsy live on a tight daily schedule; their whole lives consist of having to take medicine around the clock. Their ability to fight off sickness is lower than a normal child’s would be. Children with cerebral palsy are more prone to other health problems, such as abnormal sensations, speech problems, drooling, impaired vision, even down to mental retardation. Other risk factors that can cause children to acquire cerebral palsy are babies that are premature or have low birth weight, fetus that are in the breach position, complicated labor and delivery, or even maternal infection during pregnancy. Although cerebral palsy is not curable, it does not worsen over time. (NINDS 2006). According to researchers at the children’s hospital at Zhejiang medical university, they spent over a year researching the effects of acupressure treatment for children who had infantile cerebral palsy. They found around 75 children to participate in the study each child received 10 to 175 treatments of therapy, body acupuncture, along with acupressure massages. The researchers gathered their information based on the children’s performance in physical movement, and their intelligence quotient. (Zhou, 1993)
There are several ways in which a mother and father can tell if their child has cerebral palsy. Parents can tell as early as the first two to three months of their child’s life. The child’s motor skills will fall behind and set mile stones in a developing child. A child with cerebral palsy will tend, to either feel and look real tense, or seem real relaxed. This is due to the lack of the child having control over his or her own muscle tone. Even though cerebral palsy may be caught at an early age in a child’s life, there is still no possible cure to relive the child of this problem. Children with cerebral palsy, depending on which part of the body it affects, tends to have a problem with the hamstrings in their upper leg pulling on the muscles in the lower leg, which causes their legs to be pulled behind their body. To correct the problem, doctors will cut the hamstrings in the upper legs causing the muscles to relax which than stops the pulling on the lower legs. Another common problem with children having this disorder occurs with tightness in their feet, also causing muscles to pull the feet towards the back of their body. To correct the problem doctors will cut the tendon, and put casts on the legs, causing the feet to line up in the anatomical position. Doctors can also supply the patient with prescription drugs to help with seizures, to regulate pain, or to relax tight muscles.(NINDS 2006) Doctors will diagnose cerebral palsy by testing the child’s motor skills, and by looking into the medical history of the child and mother. Doctors will also check how well developed the child’s hand movement is compared to other children who are normal. From their, doctors will start to narrow down on symptoms that can cause the same effects of cerebral palsy. (united cerebral palsy 2001)
With proper training, parents can learn to help their child through the major steps in life. When caught early enough, a doctor will encourage a parent to put their child in physical therapy which will help with the muscle tone, and help the child to remain physically limber. This will also help them to reach their full potential in life. Physical therapy can help children with cerebral palsy in several different ways. Some physical therapist might work with children in walking, and in stretching muscles, others might help with dressing or day to day activities. Children with this disability might even go to counseling and behavior therapy to help them deal with the emotional and psychological needs with having this condition. (NINDS 2006) Parents also face many problems, such as trying to find clothes that are lose enough to fit their children. This is why we tend to see children with cerebral palsy wearing sweat pants and t-shirts. Some of the types of treatment that are used for children with cerebral palsy include, but not limited too, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy as mentioned before, vision and hearing aids, medications, surgery and assistive technology.
Cerebral palsy is the result of having an injury to the brain. It happens after conception, either while still in the mothers womb or in the delivery process or shortly after birth. Doctors are still unsure of what causes Cerebral Palsy. The injury can be a result of an infection or if the mother is hurt while carrying the baby. It is also possible that a baby can get cerebral palsy during the delivery process, in which the baby can not get enough oxygen, or has a difficult time being delivered, where the baby’s brain is damaged. Even after birth the baby is still at a risk for cerebral palsy, due to the fact that after birth the baby’s brain is still developing. and the baby can be born with infections or have bleeding in the brain. (Brown, 2008) there are also conditions that are sometimes associated with cerebral palsy which are delayed growth and development, spinal deformities, impaired vision and speech, drooling, incontinence, and abnormal sensations and perceptions.
It is heart breaking to see children that are in this condition. Cerebral palsy takes away from their independence, also takes away their freedom to run and play. Parents with children who have cerebral palsy do not have certain freedoms that parents with normal children have. It takes parents who are willing to make a great sacrifices to be able to take care of children that have this disability. It takes parents who are fully dedicated to their children, who are willing to spend every wakening moment to see that the are properly taken care of. Having children with this disability also takes many, many hours in doctors offices going for yearly physicals, getting medications, and going to physical therapy. Children with this disability need parents who are willing to put them first in everything they do. Even though cerebral palsy is affecting more and more children, hopefully one day doctors will have a cure to relieve children of this disability.

I'm No Stranger
1) Here I am again, this place looks so familiar to me.
I remember this feeling and the tears how they brought me to my knees.
The hopelessness I feel right now will only last a while, For I know a
land of blessings lies just beyond the trail.
Ch) Lord, I feel your presence's so much stronger today, here in this valley
I know your testing my faith. If it makes me more like you, this is
where I long to be, I've been here before I'm no stranger to the valley
2) I will smile again, the tears are drying out, I'm about to see
the reason for the journey when I stand high upon that mountain peek,
when I reach the other side I'll clearly understand, lord I made it through
each valley cause I held on to your hand.
Ch) lord I feel your presence's so much stronger today, here in this valley
I know your testing my faith. if it makes me more like you this is where I want
to be, I've been here before you see I'm no stranger to the valley.

today was a pretty all right day.. I'd update about church over the weekend but seeings how mom and uncle Dave did I'll not repeat them. But it was awesome, and I'm so thankful I have a pastor who stays right with the word.

I'm been working on medical terminology for the past hour or so.. trying to get ahead before my fall break.. so all I'll have to study for is my anatomy lab test, and my psychology test.. I don't want any homework or anything extra besides studying for my tests.. I want to put as much time into those as I can...

we was kinda busy at work today, which was nice.. helped the day go by a little quicker..

Roni, I hope your week so far as been good..

Sunday, October 5, 2008

church over the weekend was awesome.. don't have enough time tonight to go into detail of what he preached, but I will soon.

Roni, I got your text today, I hope your weekend is a good one, and that you enjoy your break from msn.

Camp is coming up next weekend, I really hope it turns out well this year. I'm going sometime this week and getting fish for one of the games.

I really miss my feller, and I wished he'd stop being so stubborn and call.. I do want it to be in Gods timing though when he calls then things will fall into place. I do miss him though and I hope its soon.. can't wait until I hear his voice again, and to hear him say I love you..

Hehe I know tonight's blog has been random, but I'm tired and ready to fall asleep at any given moment.. gonna pray before I do fall asleep.. night.

Im so thankful!

well, I just got home from babysitting tonight.. Little Breanna and Brandon.. had fun..

This afternoon was a big surprise to me, I was playing the piano and I felt my phone vibrating, So I checked my text message (I was hoping it was from Mitch), in all this I realized that I had a missed call which was my brother.. so I called him back and we talked for a while, and he told me that he was going to give me a raise!! So I'm thinking I'll get my raise next week when I get paid.. Wrong, I got it tonight when I showed up to baby sit for him, he told me on the phone if I baby sat tonight he'd go ahead and give me the raise tonight.. I am so thankful for the raise! God knows how to supply a need when your not even praying for that certain need.. come to thank of it, the song I was playing on the piano was "I've got so much to thank him for" which I do... Gee too raises in one week in the same family... pretty neat! if I do say so myself.

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

well today by far was a better day then yesterday.. I manged to get my test taken and turned in.. yay! and nothing else went wrong.. woo-hoo... today has been kinda crazy school, work, homework... so I've pretty much took the afternoon and took a break pretty much from my homework and studying for quiz's and tests.. I stopped at the car wash and vacuumed and washed my car.. so it's ready for camp : D I hope we have some good services next weekend..

Roni, I hope you had a wonderful day out in the field..
